Building Sisterhood: How We Healed Together

By The Johnson SistersJanuary 20, 2026

We were not always close. Life scattered us in different directions. Different cities, different choices, different struggles. We loved each other, but we didn't know each other anymore.

Then our mother got sick. And we had to show up. Not just physically, but emotionally. We had to be present with each other in ways we hadn't been in years.

And something shifted.

In the hospital waiting room, we started talking. Really talking. Not the surface conversations we had perfected over the years, but the deep conversations about fear, about dreams, about the ways we had hurt each other and ourselves.

We cried together. We laughed together. We remembered who we were before life pulled us apart.

And we decided: we would not let that happen again. We would be intentional about our sisterhood. We would show up. We would witness each other. We would tend to this relationship like it was sacred—because it is.

Now we gather regularly. We share our struggles and our celebrations. We hold each other accountable. We remind each other of our power. We are building something that will outlast us—a legacy of sisters who chose each other, who healed together, who passed forward the knowledge that we are stronger together than we ever could be alone.
